 My Sketch Note

What is Sketch Noting and How can it be used in Instruction

A creative and memorable method of taking notes, sketch noting blends words, drawings, and symbols to create a visual representation of the information being presented. During lectures, discussions, or readings, students can actively digest and synthesize material by using sketch noting as a significant tool in instruction. Students' comprehension can be strengthened, memory can be improved, and creativity can be encouraged by graphically illustrating important ideas and relationships. Sketch notes is a flexible method for improving understanding because it encourages self-expression and active learning. Students can use sketch noting in English classes to visually represent character traits, plot points, and thematic concepts during reading comprehension activities; to organize ideas and outline story structures during writing assignment brainstorming sessions; and to illustrate imagery, symbolism, and literary devices in poetry analysis.
